This is a local place with good food, pal.
We stopped here on our Scott’s pizza tour (with Alexis who is AMAZING) and the pizza here is the best!!! We even went back another day to eat lunch here, it was so good!! And Lou is awesome!!! 🙌
MoreHad a great experience. The portions are good sizes, very yummy and reasonably priced. Best part was the service!
MoreGreat local restaurant with good food, amazing pizza and a wonderful low key atmosphere.
MoreOld school pizzeria with awesome pies. The interior is straight outta the 1970s and there’s no pretense to this family style spot. Owner and staff are all exceptionally nice. Neighborhood gem.
MoreGreat pizza and good times can be had a Sam's... classic. Orginal Carol gardens restaurant doing it the same way for years .Definitely dont sleep on this place. If you dont know ,now you know .....
MoreService was terrible only ONE waiter and he had an attitude. The bill for two mediocre "veggie" pizzas and EXPIRED warm bottles sodas was not worth $108.00.
MoreThis place is very cool, and feels a little bit like stepping into another time period. Food was great and service was fun and friendly. No frills, but great.
MoreTerrible service, didn't get a chance to try the food. Server waived his finger at my wife and said you can't sit there! Fortunately we were getting up to leave no change seats. Won't go back.
MoreVery friendly is like eating at your own house
Didnt get a chance to taste how reportedly good the food is. Walked in and the temp was 3 times that of outside temp on an 83° day. Nobair conditiining and no fans in sight. Eyes started burning from all the sweat.
MoreFantastic pizza
Like walking thru the door and coming out in the 1960's on the other side when you enter this place! Good vibes, great Italian food, wine, recently met the owner, cant wait to go back when they re-open after Labor Day.
MoreGREAT ITALIAN FOOD. REASONABLE PRICES AND VERY COMFORTABLE.
A hidden New York gem. Hugely authentic and charming interior that feels unchanged for at least 50 years. Delicious classic pizza. Deserves a place on any pizza lover's must visit list.
MoreWife and I were visiting daughter in the neighborhood. My daughter was sick. Lou gave her a reference for a quality urgent care location and a neighborhood doctor. Class act. As for the food it was as if my wife, mother, mother-in-law or grandmother’s cooked there. Honest to God. When I visit again it’ll be my first stop. Places like this are a treasure.
MoreIf you want old school Brooklyn Italian well this is the place. We had a big party so we ordered a lot of things. The pizza was delicious, The bake clams were great, the pastas were good, not my favorite pastas, but good. The atmosphere is what you expect for this place, super Brooklyn original. I will for sure come back for more.
MoreNo frills, old school Brooklyn Italian joint. You MUST order the baked ziti.
Red sauce Italian is the best way to describe this place. It's been open since the 1930s. Walking through the front door is like being transported back in time. The pizza is fantastic, it's perfectly charred in a brick oven. The pasta and parmesan dishes are excellent. The prices are very reasonable, but it's cash only.
MoreSuperb pizza, old school, vintage vibe. The waiter Steve is awesome and will take good care of you. The chicken parmesan is quite possibly the best I've ever had. The baked clams are also amazing. I haven't had anything here that wasn't delicious. Cash only.
MoreThis is overall a good place. Takes you back to the 80's i.e. old boots, wood all over. The atmosphere is authentic and fun but the food needs to be updated. Very cheap. Good both of wine for $20.
MoreBest Pizza in Brooklyn. When you walk in it's like you took a step back in time. Great owner great atmosphere
MoreGreat traditional NY pizza
Quaint place, pizza is absolutely delicious. It is cash only. Lou will take good care of you.
MoreExcellent pizza as always. Be nice to Louie.
The food can be terrible but the atmosphere is wonderful. Get the pizza & skip the pasta. ...oh & get a martini 🍸
MoreA Court St. Survivor for over 80 years. Pizza to die for and all the red sauce favorites in an unspoiled setting. Get there now!
MoreThe food is great, but it's the charm of the restaurant that makes it! Just remember to be charming yourself! And try try clams and the pizza!
MoreGreat old school Italian restaurant. Owner and server were friendly. Reasonably priced.
MoreFantastic pizza. Best this native New Yorker has ever ha .
Great place! Old school Brooklyn like you won't see anywhere else in the area. Pizza and fried pork chops are good.
MoreFood is amazing, so delicious but the service is slow it took 20 min for them to take our order but only 15 min for the food to come. Like I said worth the wait but maybe have a snack before you go there.
MoreMaybe they changed ingredients bc of Covid but the quality of the mozzarella was extremely poor. Otherwise the sauce and crust was good
MoreOne of the last good guys...good food n ambience. Thanks Lou
Baked Clams and pizza
Right on with one of the other reviews, place looks and feels like it's right out of a movie. 3rd generation family owned. Had the pasta with red meat sauce and side of meatballs and sausage. On point. Good prices. About to relocate here from work and will certainly be coming back to Sam's.
MoreI am so happy that places like this still exist. Please never go away.
Awesome place throw back to old school brooklyn
The meatballs are delicious and the cheese ravioli are well seasoned. My husband's chicken parmigiana serving was generous and flavorful! The baked clams were very tasty!
MoreAmazing pizza. But there's no rushing the wait staff.
Incredible pizza. Great atmosphere and people. Say hi to Louie for me when you get there.
MoreExcellent pizza. Awesome atmosphere. The owner was there, though it seems like he always is, great person. Awesome character. Made the dinning experience even better. We got a basic cheese pizza which was fantastic. It’s hard to describe, especially since it was the third pizza we had today but it was definitely one of our favorites on our pizza tour in NY. Highly recommend it
MoreClassic place, Louis is the best, and the pizza and pasta we're fantastic. Can't believe it took us so long to try Sam's! Now we can't wait to go back.
MoreYou are served like you are family. Walking in, the sight and scents of ofther diners' meals make for a difficult choice when you order, but you know you can't go wrong here. If you dine in, you will see a steady stream of customers walk through to the back, emerging with pizza boxes and big smiles. Mario is the king of the place and loves what he does. Delicious, unpretentious food you rave about afterwards, knowing how much work went into it.Sam's is cash only, so if you are unprepared, Mario will guide you around the corner to the bank and its ATM. When you return, your wine glass may have been refilled or your meal kept warm. They accomodate groups, but don't bring a party of 6 in the evening without calling ahead. Mario likes to wind things down at a reasonable hour (sometimes 8:30 or 9:00pm).The place is a joy. On my first visit, everyone was falling all over themselves to make sure I was well looked after and had a great meal, which I did. You will, too.
MoreMy favorite pizza joint the baked clams are very good as well as the pizza and all the dishes they serve here enjoy!!!!
MoreFantastic! A time machine in Italian cuisine. Food like grandma made and served by your favorite uncle.A must experience in NYC!
MoreOver priced and also made me feel sad
A little unassuming neighborhood gem. Old school solid red sauce joint. May not look the fanciest, but good prices, great food and warm hospitality.
MoreNot a happy place , food was not worth the super long waiting
Great traditional red sauce place with stellar eggplant parmesan.
